The Environmental Archaeology Unit

The Oxford Environmental Archaeology Unit is based within the Museum and is available to provide advice to local authorities on environmental archaeology.

The unit is funded by English Heritage to undertake palaeoenvironmental studies on plant, insect and molluscan remains from their archaeological excavations. Research is also undertaken on palaeohydrology and alluvial stratigraphy in relation to archaeology. The unit contributes to teaching for the archaeology and anthropology degree course at Oxford.

Enquiries regarding the unit should be sent to: archaeo@oum.ox.ac.uk
